What is the difference between PVC and UPVC?

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) and UPVC (Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride) are both types of plastic commonly used in construction and manufacturing. The main difference between the two is that PVC is a flexible plastic that contains added plasticizers, while UPVC is a rigid plastic that does not contain plasticizers.

UPVC is more durable and resistant to weathering, making it ideal for outdoor applications such as window frames, doors, and pipes. It is also more fire-resistant than PVC. PVC, on the other hand, is more flexible and can be used for a wider variety of applications, such as flooring, electrical cable insulation, and inflatable products.

In terms of environmental impact, UPVC is considered more environmentally friendly than PVC, as it does not contain harmful plasticizers and can be recycled more easily. However, both materials have been criticized for their environmental impact and potential health risks associated with their production and disposal.
